Fred Astaire Dance Studios

Fred Astaire has franchise businesses all over the country. They were looking to class things up with some new tech. Conceirge website with a way for their clients to RSVP for classes and events. As well as a showcase for their amazing video content.

To work for a franchise, the site had to be easily tranformed for any location and staff. The students are different, the staff, the classes offered. Everything needed to be possible for each franchise to run on their own with a CMS, and their own Calendar Software.

The mobile app would need to be elegant and formal, and let the student RSVP to a class in one-click. Fun and inviting, The website would need to organize and showcase years of performance video and other calls to action for Weddings, Choreography and other special services offered. I worked with their marketing people to get the branding right.

We built this is Ruby on Rails with a mobile app written to be a PWA inside a Cordova wrapper. The interface for RSVPing to scheduled classes was just a button click, but on the backend, it had to deliver to a variety of sources. E-Mail and Calendar Apps, but also SMS and a more involved owner Dashboard were used to coordinate, cancelation, etc.
